ABOUT YOUR SHOOT
How much does it cost?
A $100 session fee is required to book a standard session. The session fee reserves your appointment time in the studio with the photographer and your hair and makeup artist. Some packages, such as our Deluxe, Ultimate or calendar packages, require an additional deposit. The total cost of your session is determined by you, depending on how many poses, prints, digital images or retouching packages you choose. All prices are posted on our pricing page.
Session fees and payments are nonrefundable.
What if I have to reschedule?
48 hours notice is required to reschedule your shoot in order to keep your session fee on file. If you reschedule with less than 48 hours notice, half of your session fee ($50) will be forfeited. If you reschedule with less than 2 hours notice or if you do not show up for your appointment with no notice given, your entire session fee will be forfeited. All session fees and payments are non-refundable, so canceling your shoot will result in forfeiture of your session fee. Session fees for one day specials, special events, classes and workshops are non-refundable and non-transferable, so make sure you can attend before booking.
Is hair and makeup included?
Yes, your session fee includes hair and makeup styling. For best results, please come with a clean face and no heavy products in your hair. Make sure your hair is completely dry. A $30 fee will apply if you come to your shoot with wet hair.
What should I bring?
Any vintage or retro-style clothing that makes you feel sexy and any props with sentimental value, like your favorite teddy bear or your guitar. Check out our ideas page for lots of other suggestions. If you have a specific idea in mind but don't have any props or costumes, contact us for more information on what props and costumes are available at the studio. Be sure to bring a flesh-toned bra and panty and some high heels!
Do you provide the outfits?
We have a large selection of wardrobe options in a wide range of sizes here at the studio. Our pin-ups are always welcome to bring their own clothing as well, just in case. Steel boned corsets and vintage reproduction lingerie are available in our boutique. Custom outfits are also available from Sew She Said.
Do you shoot everyday clothing as well?
WE DO NOT SHOOT MODERN CLOTHING. There are countless studios available to shoot modern styles, but we only shoot vintage and retro styles.
Do you shoot nudes?
We shoot implied nudity (meaning you can be naked, but all goodies are strategically covered) but we do not shoot full nudes.
Do you have props?
We have several props to choose from, such as old telephones, furniture, vintage hats, holiday items and lots more. While we do offer a wide range of items, bringing your own will make certain your shoot is different from anyone else's. Let us know ahead of time if you are looking for something specific and we will do our best to find it before your photo shoot. Custom props can also be built, however additional fees may apply. If you have an idea, contact us for a consultation.
Can I shoot with a car or motorcycle?
We are not able to shoot cars in studio at this time. If you would like to shoot your car on location, please contact us for scheduling. An additional travel fee will apply. Motorcycles may be brought in studio for a $35
fee per bike. A handler must be on site at all times to move the bike. We are not responsible for moving any bikes or any damage that may occur while in studio.
I saw a theme/set in your gallery that I want for my shoot. Is this possible?
We rotate our sets and specials out monthly and always have new themes available. A past set may no longer be available for shooting, but new ones will always be set up. Be sure to add our Facebook page to keep up with discount specials and new sets.

Who can be a pin-up?
Anyone! We transform women of all shapes, sizes, ages, ethnicities and experience levels into pin-up girls and retro bombshells. 95% of our clients are regular, everyday women with no modeling experience who simply want a unique portrait session.
What if I have scars, acne, stretch marks, etc?
All photos purchased from our portrait studio include our basic retouching package absolutely FREE! This means all skin will be smoothed to perfection, eliminating blemishes, scars, bruises, stretch marks, cellulite, etc. We also offer a deluxe retouching package for more extensive corrections, such as fixing tan lines, body reshaping and sculpting, etc.
I have very short hair, wear a wig or have an extreme hair cut or color. Can you style me as a pin-up?
Of course! We have a limited assortment of wigs at the studio, so we encourage our pin-ups to bring matching hairpieces that may be used to enhance your look. Human hair wigs are easiest to work with and produce the best results, however synthetic wigs can also be styled. Short hair can also be styled in a variety of ways. Contact us if you have specific questions or concerns about hair styling.
Can I add another person or pet to my shoot?
Although our main focus is turning everyday gals into fabulous pin-up vixens, we are also able to shoot men, children and pets as long as the theme is retro. We only have wardrobe for women, so all other clothing will need to be provided by you. Additional fees may apply.
Will someone help with posing?
Yes, we will pose you and help with facial expressions. To prepare, try searching the internet to view pin-up art and photography from the 1940's and 1950's. Take a look at their faces and body positioning. Go to your mirror and work on facial expressions before your shoot. You may feel silly or self conscious, but the best thing you can do is fully commit to it and your photos will turn out great! Before your shoot, be sure to stretch so that your body will be loosened up and ready to strike a pose.

Where will the shoot take place?
Your shoot will take place in our portrait studio at 1300 W. Stan Schlueter Loop, Suite #200, Killeen, Texas 76549. Click here for directions. At this time we are unable to travel for location shoots.
What dates are available to book?
Take a look at our online calendar for available appointment times. Every effort is made to keep our calendar up to date, however not all appointment dates requested may be available as listed. Appointments are booked on a first-come, first-served basis. Inquiring about a date does not mean you have booked it unless we have received your session fee and confirmed your appointment.

Digital images will be made available for download as soon as retouching is complete and approved by the client. The turn around for discount specials and pin-up parties may require additional time to process.
Where do I pick up my pictures?

For an additional $10 you may have other products, such as calendars and playing cards, shipped to your door as well. At this time, frames are not able to be shipped. Digital images may be downloaded via a link we will provide you.
Will my photos be posted on the website or in one of your online galleries?

When I buy a digital image, do I get the copyright?
No, Lone Star Pin-up retains the copyright to all images created. For high res image orders, we will include a letter authorizing you to print your images anywhere you like. Digital images must remain unaltered unless alterations have been approved by the photographer.
Do you offer payment plans?
We sure do! Click here to make a payment of $50, $75, $100 or $200 towards your pin-up shoot. We'll keep it on file until you're ready to book. If you'd like to pay an amount that is not listed, contact us for assistance.
